Tuition

My aim is for you to get as much pleasure from painting as I do and to develop your painting abilities. In my opinion oil painting is the easiest and most forgiving medium to paint with and I hope to prove this to you.

For beginners I provide a selection of images for you to work from and all the paints and equipment necessary. I will guide you along the way and at the end of the first lesson you will have a finished painting you will be proud of.

Class sizes are kept low so that I can give everyone individual attention to allow you to develop at your own pace. I can give you more technical instruction or you can paint with guidance from me.

Everyone is welcome, all abilities. Not sure if it is for you? Then come along for a trial class.

Testimonials

Andrew is a very accomplished artist. His work is of the highest standard. He is a gentleman who offers polite and helpful criticism in all of his lessons. I would, indeed I have, recommended people to come along to his classes, whether they be beginner or accomplished artist, Andrew seems to able to bring out the best of us all.

Very enjoyable way of spending a few hours in company with like-minded people and learning a new skill which can sometimes be challenging but always results in a positive outcome.

I am 80 years young... Joined Andrew's class and on the first day, to my surprise, the first time using alkyd oils I managed to paint a picture. Andrew has a fantastic technique, starting you off on a 6 inch square board. This gives you the confidence to paint a picture and to your surprise you go home with a fantastic painting. I am learning how to mix my own colours and pre mix them before starting, this I have found to be invaluable advice. Andrew's classes have opened a new door for me getting me out each week and wanting to paint at home. He wakes you up to follow your own instinct, look, learn and most of all take his advice he has so much to offer his students. Do not hesitate, come along to one of his classes you will never regret it.
